LVC rejects the commercialization of biodiversity at the UN CBD COP 11 in Hyderabad

December, 10, 2012.
Hyderabad.
LVC and the Karnataka State farmers movement (KRRS) participated at the Convention on Biodiversity COP 11 in Hyderabad in October 2012. LVC has rejected the CBDs ability to conserve biodiversity but rather asserts that it will increase bio-piracy. LVC also participated in the peoples biodiversity festival, a parallel encounter of the indigenous people, farmers, peoples movements, citizens and NGOs who in fact are the real force behind the protection and conservation of biodiversity and its equitable use for the benefit of mankind and not for private profit.
